IntraEP Engineer Portal to be launched


Pegasus are due to roll out to its engineers the latest stage in its project "INtrajet" designed jointly by Pegasus Software Solutions and Footwerkpacific to increase the efficiency of Pegasus Communication engineers whilst in the field.

Replacing paper-based processes, the system takes job requests and allocates them to the most appropriate engineer based on job priority, location or skills required. Job information is delivered through a Siemens GPRS hand held device (The SIMPad) and each engineer updates the work order in real-time, synchronising the data with a central server as each task is completed. The system also makes available to the engineer customer contact details, location maps, and previous customer history.

The consensus of opinion between the field engineers were that as they could update the progress of their calls remotely, it was good that customers and the office could monitor their progress of the reported call as there was less pressure whilst working on site.
